News: Naughty Dog has revealed that it has no plans for working with the PS Vita – or any current handheld.

If you’re looking forward to a PS Vita Uncharted that’s actually developed by Naughty Dog, you’ll be waiting for a while. In a post on NeoGAF, caught by GameSpot, Naughty Dog’s Studio community manager Arne Meyer has stated that the studio currently has no plans to work with the PS Vita. “I won’t say never, ever,” he admits, “but there’s no plans for it right now.”
Meyer added: “I’ve said that traditionally consoles have played to our strengths–and desires to push the utmost limit of resources and memory our tech and engine. That can change with the right handheld, as why I said I won’t ever say ‘never’ but we hadn’t encountered that yet.” Maybe a future handheld console will entice Naughty Dog enough. But for now we can look forward to Naughty Dog’s latest project, The Last of Us.
