Those scamps over at Naughty Dog are boasting again.
This time they say that they pull even more grunt out of the PlayStation 3, hopefully making Uncharted 3 – no announcement, but come on! – look even better than it’s predecessor.
Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arnie Meyer said that through engine refinement and innovation, and some challenges that didn’t get worked on by the studio’s programmers due to the development of Uncharted 2, they can get a ‘good number’ of improvements into the engine.
“There are still engine-related projects that some of our programmers didn’t get around to working on or implementing [on Uncharted 2]. There’s definitely a good number of ways left for us to make really cool things happen on the engine level.”
Can Naughty Dog’s next game really look even better than Uncharted 2? At this point, who knows, but it is good to know that the team are constantly improving their technology and aiming for gaming perfection, and it came so close with Uncharted 2 it’s untrue.
