Multiplayer modes furtively escape Splinter Cell HD Trilogy

Now this is a real shame. The quite brilliant ‘Spy vs Mercenary’ multiplayer mode that first appeared in Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow will not be included as part of the upcoming Splinter Cell HD remakes.
If you never got the chance to play it, the exhilarating multiplayer component tasked the group of Spies to infilrate an area and download data from a number of nodes placed around the map. The Mercenaries’ objective was to prevent this, by eliminating the Spies and defending the surrounding area with their superior firepower and high-tech tracking capabilities. However, the interesting twist was that the Mercenaries were limited to a first-person view, instilling a constant fear in the back of your mind that you could end up having your neck snapped at any moment.
The disappointing news was announced on the US Playstation Blog, with no reason given. Nevertheless, the HD Trilogy should be making an appearance sometime this June and all three games will be playable in 3D.
