FEAR 3/F.3.A.R./F.E.A.R. 3 have all been delayed.
No reason has been given for the delay by Day 1 Studios, developer of FEAR 3.
Day 1 Studios isn’t the original developer of the FEAR series. The first game was developed by Monolith Productions and later ported to the PS3/360 by Day 1 not very well. After FEAR 1 there was a set of expansions packs, Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate, both developed by Timegate Studios and later bundled as FEAR Files, were met with less than stellar reception.
FEAR 2 is when Monolith Productions took the reigns once more and put out FEAR 2, a pretty okay game. Now, with FEAR 3 being developed by someone other than Monolith, we’ll see if they can pull off some real fear, or if it will fail like the Timegate games did. We’ll see in 2011.
