Monster Hunter 3G European release in autumn 2012?

Monster Hunter 3G, the 3DS update to the Wii’s Monster Hunter 3, may be set for a European release in autumn 2012.

The Monster Hunter series has a history of unreliability in Europe. Too many times we’ve been left staring longingly across the oceans when a Monster Hunter game hasn’t even left Japan, its home, where it tops sales charts again and again. There’s a rumour, though – a whisper on a sea breeze – that Monster Hunter 3G might get a European release in autumn 2012.

Both GoNintendo and Monster Hunter Wikia have posted scans of Official Nintendo Magazine, with what looks to be a preview of Monster Hunter 3G in it.

And right there at the bottom: “ETA: Autumn 2012″.

Monster Hunter 3G is an expanded version of Monster Hunter 3, including full 3D, of course, as well as local wireless functionality. It will also feature new monsters, equipment, and supporting characters.

Oddly enough, the first Monster Hunter game on a Nintendo console will be followed by Monster Hunter 4, a 3DS exclusive. No release date yet confirmed for that one. Not even in Japan.

One person who won’t be looking forward to Monster Hunter 3G is our own Mark Ankucic, who had a terrible old time with Monster Hunter 3 a few months back.
