Minecraft snapshot reveals new enemy and more

The Wither Boss. It doesn’t sound very nice. It doesn’t look very nice either. When you find out what it can do it is rather unsurprisingly, not very nice. Each of its three heads can fire projectiles at you or anyone else in site. One of them hits you and you start to die from a slow poisoning effect, or withering. I see what Mojang did there.
How do we know all this about an update for Minecraft that isn’t even out yet? Why, Reddit of course, who cracked the Snapshot 12w34a open and had a look inside.
Apart from the new boss there’s also exciting new additions like carrots and potatoes. Also frames that you can put items like clocks in and hang on the wall. Slightly more interesting is Invisibility Potions, which could prove very handy. There’s a ton more, but one that grabbed my attention was the wooden button, it may seem rather innocuous but I get quite annoyed that there’s a restriction on what certain blocks can be built with and this looks like Mojang are addressing this. I want my stairs made of gold dammit!
Back to the Wither Boss. Reddit user Sethbling has made a worldmap for you to see the new enemy all for yourself. If that sounds too scary, or at least too technical he also made a nice video with all the updates for the map in it.
