Minecraft passes 5.2 million sales

During a GDC talk with SpyParty’s Chris Hecker, Markus ‘Notch’ Perrson revealed that Minecraft has sold over 5.2 million copies. To put that into some sort of relatable perspective: that’s more Smarties than I have on my desk at this moment. I know, you were having difficulty comprehending it before but it’s so much easier to understand now.
As well as revealing the jaw-dropping number Notch went on to say that there’s a secret in the game that still hasn’t been discovered. He gave no other hint than that; I’m sure that won’t drive the Minecraft community rabid. My money’s on “We apologize for the inconvenience” in mile high burning letters. But then I’ve been wrong about these things in the past.
