Microsoft’s Game Room Launches But Doesn’t Load

Posted March 24, 2010 by Travis Barbour in News.

Microsoft’s Game Room offers the opportunity to play retro games in your own hand-crafted arcade that you can share with your friends, at least that was the intention.

After it launched early this morning, the Game Room has had numerous issues. The biggest is that the game simply refuses to load. After reaching around 25-30% of the initial loading bar, the game is quite happy to sit there for eternity. A quick fix was soon discovered on the NeoGAF Forums that allowed access to the Arcade but not much content.

When in the Arcade, the only options seemingly available are to decorate. It’s not possible to play games or even purchase them. Additionally, two free Game Packs were made available on the Xbox dashboard and through Xbox.com for free but cannot be accessein-gamed . Reports suggest these problems exist on the Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

We’ve got our ears in the right places and will get some updates here when an official fix is announced. For now, hang tight retro gamers.

I have been buzzed about this since i heard about it months ago.
Same story with glitched arcade games. you would think the tests would have sorted this way before release date.
no doubt it will be a day or two before sorted :(
