Microsoft: Kinect Unlikely To Get Own Peripherals

Kinect is unlikely to get any of its own peripherals, according to Microsoft’s Xbox manager for UK & Ireland Neil Thompson.
Asked whether he thought peripherals would become available for the motion control system in the future, Thompson said: “Well, one, not that I know of and two, not that I can think of at this moment. A lot of the idea of Kinect is that you just need you.
The question came in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, alongside others relating to the console, which is now five years old.
Thompson commented that he couldn’t say with any real certainty what the future might hold. “But if you think about what the principle of what Kinect is,” he continued, “it kind of takes most accessories and unneeded peripherals away from that interactive experience.”

I’m not really surprised by that. But as with anything it shall be interesting to see what happens as it’s out on the market longer and, what’s in store for Kinects future.
