Mass Effect: Homeworlds comic will star Tali

An upcoming comic series set in the Mass Effect universe, titled Mass Effect: Homeworlds, will chronicle the lives of Mass Effect 3′s squadmates between the second and third games – including fan favourite Tali.

The actual Mass Effect games are dwarfed in numbers by the sheer amount of universe-expanding comics and books Bioware seem determined to keep pumping money into. Following the upcoming release of Mass Effect 3, a new comic series will explore the lives of Shepard’s squadmates beween the end of Mass Effect 2 and the full-scale Reaper invasion seen in number 3. Publishers Dark Horse have already announced the first issue will feature new boy James Vega, and now they’ve revealed issue two will star Quarian machine-wrangler Tali.

Dark Horse told DualShockers the issue will depict Tali on the run after discovering “the treachery of a central Mass Effect figure”, and encountering some nasty space-racism upon seeking sanctuary in the Citadel. We know the Illusive Man and his Cerberus buddies are working with the Reapers in Mass Effect 3 – could Tali be one of the first to discover his treasonous bastardness?

Issue #2 of the Homeworlds series has been co-written by Patrick Weekes and Jeremy Barlow and is due for release on April 30th,, while the Vega-focused first issue has been scribed by Mac Walters (lead writer on both Mass Effect 2 and 3) and is out April 25th. Mass Effect 3 itself is out over a month earlier – between the 6th and 15th of March, depending on which geographical land mass you happen to inhabit. We’re extremely excited – read our preview for why you should be too.
