Marvel Heroes Beta registration is now open
Andrew Hallam October 2, 2012 - 9:58 amNews: Admittedly you’d be forgiven for not knowing much about Marvel Heroes but hey, who doesn’t like a game beta to demo… I mean ‘play test’ a new game?

Marvel Heroes is now accepting players into it’s closed beta! Now that might not mean much to you if you’ve not heard of the super hero mash up game lately due to it being unusually quiet so far but for those of you who don’t know Marvel Heroes is essentially Diablo 3 set in the marvel universe.
You play as a wealth of different Marvel heroes from Thor and Iron man to the more obscure Luke Cage and Iron Fist as they battle through randomly generated ‘dungeons’ in either solo play or multiplayer co-op. Developers Gazillion Entertainment insist that Marvel Heroes is an MMO but it’s not clear yet how the MMO factor comes into play.
You can register for the closed beta over at the official Marvel Heroes beta site as well as checking out an open letter from director of community and customer support Stephen Reid.
Reid is the mind behind Star Wars: The Old Republic’s community management during it’s lengthy beta process so he knows what he’s on about. However, while everyone may not get into this closed beta Reid also explains that this is a ‘Pure Test’ and that the beta is still unfinished code.
“Notice I did say ‘testing’ and not ‘play a demo’ or ‘play the game early’,” Reid said, “When we say ‘Closed Beta’ it means that you’re testing unfinished software. Marvel Heroes is still in active development, and everyone who applies for Closed Beta should realize, quite simply, that it’s not done.”
“We hope you’ll enjoy playing, but we also hope you’ll help us make the game even better with great constructive feedback and dedicated testing. Taking part in a Closed Beta can sometimes be more like work than play – but it’s a unique chance to see a game taking shape, and to get an insight into development.”
We’ll give you more on Marvel Heroes as the info flows in.
