Lego to go Faster Than Light
James Haresign February 13, 2013 - 9:39 amThe FTL fleet has turned up in LEGO, but needs fans support to become a real toy.

When LEGO released a Minecraft set last year I couldn’t help the feeling that we were seeing some serious Inception shit going on. Minecraft, in a way, is the videogame equivalent to LEGO, you can build anything you want with various blocks provided, you imagination is the limit. Minecraft goes a step further by having an entire world of these blocks. LEGO producing a physical version was like the snake started to eat its own tale. Thankfully, a new set that’s been proposed doesn’t offer those same metaphysical questions. Just a cool spaceship.
An LEGO replica of the Kestrel from FTL: Faster than Light has appeared on LEGO Cuusoo, a site that lets the community vote on sets they want to see released, the same way Minecraft happened. The proposal also includes the Stealth and Mantis Cruisers, as well as the entire roster of aliens, with an incredibly cute looking Engi to boot. The Mantis looks pretty big in comparison though.
To be even considered by LEGO the proposal needs 10,000 supporters, which considering it was at 144 when Rock, Paper, Shotgun reported it yesterday afternoon, it’s looking likely.

Doesn’t look like my Kestrel – it’s not on fire.
