Remember that time when LEGO took your favourite series, LEGO-ified it then turned it into a charming co-op platformer? It’s happened again as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is announced.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes announced

Fans of fun things the world over are rejoicing as Warner Bros, Lego, TT Games and Marvel are coming together to create LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, the latest in LEGO’s attempts to turn every single one of your favourite series into a LEGO game, with the expected levels of spoofery and homage.

According to the press release the game will feature “An original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.”

The ‘other heroes’ referred to won’t just be skimming the cream at the top of the Marvel roster either, with over 100 characters to be unlocked, with cult favourites like Deadpool available.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will release in Autumn 2013 on PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U, DS and 3DS.

To complete the set of all our favourite things being given the LEGO treatment, we here at BeefJack are proposing a LEGO Marvel/DC crossover game, LEGO Buffy and LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Someone needs to make those games happen. What series would you like to see turned into LEGO? Let us know in the comments below.
