Sucker Punch Productions brought us InFamous on May 26th. Since the day of its release, gamers are reporting an addicting gameplay that keeps them glued to their controllers for five or more hours at a time.
“I really started getting into the game today at about 8am or so and I totally got sucked in for about 6hrs straight. At one point just told everyone not pass calls through me ’till further notice. This game gets you in some zone where, like in addictive online shooter games you call for “just one more round”, this game grabs you with “Just… one… more… mission and I’ll stop… this time for sure” before you know it time has flown by.”
It seems like the gamers who picked up InFamous are averaging about seven and a half hours per session. When I was younger i remember dedicating this much time per session to a single video game. Aside from World of Warcraft, I haven’t been as dedicated to a game like this since Super Mario 64.
Horay for binge gaming.

I have to agree. I don’t usually like open-world games but this one is incredible.
The controls are very tight and the difficulty is perfect.
Well done sucker-punch! Looking forward to the sequel.

Wow, pretty incredible! I doubt I’d get that addicted, but I was able to play the demo for about an hour and a half, just running around and havin’ fun, so this doesn’t seem too crazy I guess.

Already beat it twice once as a hero, once as inFAMOUS. One of the best games i’ve ever played. Hands down.

Jesus! I thought I was the only one! I was like, “I’ll play just one more mission, then I’ll stop…”
Then after I beat it, there’s a cliffhanger that I need to know so I want to play the next mission, but then a bunch of side missions pop up and I want to go and do them first, so I start doing side missions, and looking for blast shards as well as dead drops, then I finally play that mission again and it repeats.
Soo addicting…

Yeah, I played it for 9 hours straight the first day i got it. I think that’s the longest I have ever played in a single session. I felt like an idiot afterward for not doing my homework.

is it just me or do you need to be a higher quality gamer in order to follow the “good” storyarch.
When your evil or inFamous you jsut blast everything and protect yourself.

Don’t actually know how many hours I’ve spent playing it anymore, it’s been that many.
I played through as a Hero first, then upped the difficulty to get that Gold trophy and went the Infamous route. I’m going to try and make this my first platinum trophy, I don’t usually go after trophies like this but I just can’t stop playing.
Atomsk, I agree with you, the powers of the Hero are much more controlled and precise (like the megawatt hammer redirect thingy, my personal favourite
) but it’s also much harder to get rewarded with shards on some of the side missions. Infamy allows you to just do what you want and steal the things. Best to play through twice anyway but the road of the Hero is slightly tougher imo…
