HomeTown Story trailer released
Robbie Palmer March 4, 2013 - 11:36 amProject Happiness is no more, now begins the emo phase.

From the creators of Harvest Moon, a trailer of handheld title HomeTown Story has been released. Watch the trailer below:
Teased orginally as ‘Project Happiness’, the game was first released at E3 last year. Here’s the basic premise of HomeTown Story according to a Famitsu interview with Yasuhiro Wada:
“You run a shop, however, the game is about more than expanding your shop and increasing sales. Players will meet new friends and encounter new stories when more customers come and the shop grows. There are many characters to meet with many stories, and it’s up to the protagonist and his fairy sidekick Pochikal to help resolve their worries and dreams.”
From glancing at that trailer it comes as no surprise this comes from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada. This looks like the most Japanese game ever. Even the character design, from Atsuko Nishida, looks hella Japanese. I’m glad there’s still games being made like this. It’s important developers play to their regional strengths.
Excited to check out a new game from Yasuhiro Wada? Here’s our HomeTown Story coverage.

I may just not be in tune with Japanese video games, but why are there so many RPG’s about running a shop? Why not running a Castle like in Suikoden or running anything else? I know there is the harvest moon types that all cover the farm aspect of that, but I haven’t seen many others.
