Hints about the future of Mass Effect?

Bioware have dropped a few hints what could be in store for the Mass Effect Universe post-Shepard.

Bioware have never been shy stating that though Mass Effect 3 is the end of Shepard’s story it certainly won’t the end of the universe. Well Executive producer Michael Gamble has been dropping clues in a few interviews that could hint at the plans the developer has in mind for the future of the franchise.

In an interview with OXM Gamble has said “Without going down any specific path, you can think of many, many different areas throughout the IP, throughout the history, where there are large wars to be won, large battles to be had, and a lot of development to be done around where these races came from, how they came about. We have so much to draw from.”

“If you boot up Mass Effect 3 and look through the codices you’ll see we have tonnes and tonnes of backstory. Obviously, for Mass Effect 3 it’s Shepard’s story and this is where Shepard’s story finishes, but the future is wide open for what we can possibly do.”

Gamble also mentioned to Gamerzines about keeping a hold of your ME3 saves. “It wouldn’t be a bad idea. Obviously I can’t say anything, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea…”

What would you like you Bioware to tackle next with the series? Personally I’ve always wanted to see more about the Batarian/Human conflict.
