Free-to-play PC-bound Mech shooter Hawken’s closed beta is accepting signups.

According to the Hawken beta signup page, War is a Machine. This only leads me to believe that there must be some form of callout service for if war breaks down. There are many questions this raises, chief amongst them: if the AA and the RAC were to contest over who got to service war, can they fight if war is broken down?
The only way we’ll possibly know is if some of you BeefJackers get into the beta. You need to go here, give them your name, your email address, your attitude to machine war and you’re away. It also says that if you have three friends also sign up then you can reserve your callsign. Unfortunately that won’t guarantee entry to the beta, only that come the ominous sounding 12-12-12 release date you’ll be able to hop into the virtual cockpit with all the other unlucky sods who didn’t make it into the beta.
The gorgeous looking mech game will be free-to-play and is stomping onto out PCs this December. You can read the rest of our coverage here.
