Fans eagerly awaiting Half-Life 3 have started a Steam group petitioning Valve to be more open about the game’s development, dubbing the studio’s lack of communication as ‘frustrating’.

A Steam group has appeared which calls on Valve to be more open about the development of Half-Life 3. The game’s been rumoured to be in production for some time now, but at the moment the Half-Life storyline hangs on an unexpected cliffhanger after the developer failed to follow up on 2007′s Half-Life 2: Episode 2 with a promised third expansion pack.
The group stresses that it does not want the company to rush development on a new game, but rather asks Valve to ‘acknowledge’ fans when they question why information about a new Half-Life failed to materialise in 2008, when it was originally supposed to land.
The group’s message is polite and sincere, and even goes as far as to say it’s fine if Valve have decided to cancel plans to conclude the Half-Life storyline for now. They would just like to be informed either way – and, at this stage, it’s difficult not to sympathise with them.
The group was started three weeks ago, but already boasts 10,000 members.
In recent weeks, several rumours concerning a possible Half-Life 3 reveal have reared their heads, but Valve said to take them all with a pinch of salt. You can follow all the Half-Life 3 speculation right here at BeefJack.

It won’t change a thing.
Valve time is called Valve time for a reason. Not to mention their success with other projects such as Portal or Team Fortress 2.
