Guild Wars 2 Asking Gamers “What is YOUR Story”

In a very Dragon Age: Origins-like move, the people behind Guild Wars 2 are using the distinctive races in the game to help users clearly define their own personal stories. To say that this is inspired, at least on some level, by Dragon Age is only fair, but with the combined pedigrees of NCsoft and ArenaNet, we are probably being set up for some interesting new dynamics.
In Guild Wars 2, players will be able to play as one of five races: The human noble, feline charr, asura (a race that is magically inclined), norn (shapeshifters) and sylvari, a race of plant-like beings. This is definitely a bit more unique than the classic elf, dwarf, orc combination of fantasy lore that some have grown tired of, and it would seem that each race will be well fleshed out. Guild Wars 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Guild Wars MMORPG is expected to release some time in 2011. The series is known for its stunning presentation, expansive world and player vs. player focus.
