GTA III and GTA: Vice City coming to PlayStation 3

Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for PlayStation 3 has been outed by the ESRB, meaning they are probably coming to the PlayStation Store as part of Sony’s PlayStation 2 classics range.

The ESRB has revealed that Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be coming to PlayStation 3. Sony will be publishing both games, so it’s likely they’ll appear on the PlayStation Store as PlayStation 2 classics.

With the two classics appearing in their vanilla form, it may rule out a HD collection, but here’s hoping that’ll happen one day. Even without a visual makeover, the games are sure to keep people busy until Grand Theft Auto V arrives (which may not be until March 2013 if retailers are to be believed).

GTA III saw release on mobile platforms in December as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. The entire Grand Theft Auto collection is also available on Steam, and cost just £5 in the Christmas sale, so Sony will have to make the price competitive when the two games launch on PSN, not something they’re known for.

An official announcement will probably come soon, and in the mean time you’ll be able to find all the latest Grand Theft Auto news right here at BeefJack.

  1. I don’t know. Those games are pretty ugly and since they will not come as HD remasters, I will pass.

    • Yeah, especially as you can get them on PC and have them looking nice and pretty with mods.
