God game Maia reaches Kickstarter goal with three days left
Joannes Truyens November 25, 2012 - 2:34 pmNews: Maia, an upcoming god game from indie developer Simon Roth, has successfully reached its Kickstarter goal with less than three days on the clock.
It was touch and go there for a while, but Simon Roth’s Maia project has finally attained its Kickstarter goal of £100,042. With about 5,400 backers having contributed, the god game inspired by Dungeon Keeper can now head into full development.
The sudden surge of pledges is due in large part to a video made by YouTube dude TotalBiscuit, who says “it looks amazing but it needs your support to make it the rest of the way on Kickstarter.” Looks like this plug was instrumental in opening a lot of wallets. There was also the effort of five indie developers, who bundled their games as an additional pledge incentive.
