Epic Games have announced and detailed the latest map pack for Gears of War 3, titled Forces of Nature.
The fifth DLC package for Gears of War 3 has been detailed on GameTrailers. Forces of Nature features five maps that are, fittingly, in various states of weather-related disrepair. Two of these are remakes from previous games – Gears of War 2‘s Jacinto and Gears of War‘s Raven Down – that suffer from heavy rainfall and thick blizzards respectively. Aftermath is the remains of a park area after a tsunami, with subsequent earth tremors messing up your aim, while Cove is a sniper-friendly village until the fog shows up, masking “just about everything”. Artillery sounds like it has the most interesting natural disaster mechanic of the new maps, as a storm tears through the map mid-game, kicking up debris while lightning crackles overheard.
In addition, they’ll be four new character skins (seen striking poses above), hidden weapons in each map called Elemental Cleavers that can hurl frost or fire at enemies (along with Achievements for scoring kills with them) and seven unlockable weapon skins. The package, which arrives in late March, doesn’t have a set cost yet, but it’s likely to follow the 800MSP price tag of previous DLCs. Forces of Nature also forms the final part of the Gears of War 3 Season Pass.
