Gearbox working with Nvidia on Borderlands 2 DLC framerate drop issue
James Archer October 23, 2012 - 2:18 pmNews: Gearbox have teamed up with Nvidia to fix a widespread FPS drop issue in the Borderlands 2 add-on Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty.

Captain Scarlett may dig your skills, but she also shows blatant and wanton disregard for framerates. A glitch that causes nasty FPS drops during combat in Borderlands 2 DLC Captain Scarlett and Her Pirates’s Booty has become the subject of lengthy comment threads on both the Gearbox forums and Steam. Evidently, it only affects Nvidia graphics cards on the PC, and a Gearbox rep has stated that both companies are working together on a possible fix.
In the meantime, the recommended plan of action is simply to turn down (or off) all of the fancy PhysX effects, which should improve performance at the cost of singularity grenades looking relatively boring. Full disclosure: I’ve been hampered by this very issue myself, with most gun battles rapidly becoming unplayable, so I’ll happily confirm Gearbox and Nvidia’s discovery of a potential fix as being officially Good News™.
