Gamefly, the leading game rental service, is having a stupendously amazing (maybe an exxageration) Player’s Choice Contest this month. For every day in December, anybody who opens a new account on Gamefly will have the chance to win the console of their choice.
The contest starts today, and goes, not surprisingly, until the end of December. Every new and returning Gamefly member will be automatically entered into the contest, with one winner picked daily. The winner will then be able to choose between the XBOX 360, Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii consoles.
Gamefly subscriptions start out as inexpensive as $15.95 a month. That package allows you to rent one game at a time, for as long as you want it. With over 7,000 titles available for rental, you should always be able to find something you like.
As a subscriber to Gamefly myself, I would recommend the service under certain conditions. It is really hard to get new games from Gamefly unless you have them as the only game in your personal GameQ prior to release so that it can be sent the moment it becomes available. Even that does not work sometimes. If you don’t get the game at release, it can sometimes take a few weeks before you get a copy. That said, the service is great if there are a lot of older games that you want to play, but haven’t gotten around to yet. All in all, its a solid service with good shipping times and fhelpful customer service. Right now though, I’m loathe to give it too positive of a review since they are shafting current subscribers by not giving us a chance to win a free console.
