New developer interview gives us our first look at Sleeping Dogs in action.
True Crime: Hong Kong Sleeping Dogs was revealed last week through the medium of an awesome live action Hard Boiled style teaser. This week we get a look at the actual game. Not quite as awesome, but still pretty.
It’s a blend of gameplay and in-game videos over laid with interview. You can check it out below:
Well, comparisons to GTA have always plagued the True Crime series and looking at the gameplay footage that will clearly continue to be the case. That said, the close combat looks far more substantial than most sandbox games. The environment looks to play a more active role in how you fight too: at one point the player finishes a guy by shoving him head first into a roof vent. It’s a neat move, adds a bit of fun to the gameplay, suffice to say look like one to watch.
We still don’t have a release date, though some retailers are listing it as an August 24th European release. As we knoe more you’ll be able to read it here.
