Subatomic Studios’ tower defence game Fieldrunners 2 hits Steam next week at over three times the price of its iOS counterpart.
People smarter than I reckon planet Earth is home to 8.7 million species of animal. Science sure is impressive, but as a figure that pales in comparison to the number of tower defence games mankind has devised over the years. Still, as far as the genre goes they don’t come much better than Fieldrunners 2.
The good news then, is Subatomic Studios’ well-liked tower defence game hits PC (and specifically Steam) this coming Wednesday. The bad news is it’s commanding a $9.99 entry fee (roughly six quid). For comparison’s sake, the HD iPad version is priced at $2.99.
The press release offers few clues as to why PC gamers will have to splurge an extra $7 for the privilege of playing a six-month old game. Perhaps one for the summer sale, then.
