Fate Of The World, the upcoming strategy game which puts various environmental issues in the hands of the player, will see a final version released on February 11th next year.

Developers Red Redemption confirmed this date in an interview with BeefJack, which will appear on the site in some form or another in the near future.

Pre-orders open on October 29th, and anyone doing so will get full beta access.

The February release date refers to digital distribution only, but Red Redemption have plans to release a boxed retail copy at some point shorty afterwards.

“Even though I do see PC gaming has moved online at a tremendous rate, which is a fantastic opportunity for indie companies like us, there’s still a market for boxed copies,” said studio co-founder Gobion Rowlands. “A different market, though. And obviously making a game about climate change, we want to make sure we don’t have too much waste!

“We don’t want to have a huge impact with what we do, so we try to balance that as best we can.”
