Fable: The Journey will not be “Fable: The Party Game,” says Gary Car
Yuliya Geikhman June 7, 2012 - 3:28 amNews: Lionhead’s Gary Car explains why Fable: The Journey will appeal to core gamers, despite being Kinect controlled.

Fable: The Journey has gotten quite a bit of criticism for being a Kinect Fable game. But Lionhead creative producer Gary Car assures fans that just because the game will use Kinect doesn’t mean it will suck. Car got a chance to defend Fable: The Journey at an E3 interview conducted by none other than Peter Molyneux himself.
According to Car, Fable: The Journey was designed to be played comfortably from the couch, “without having to jump around for five minutes.” It was never intended to be a game that requires a lot of movement. “We didn’t want to do ‘Fable: The Party Game. We wanted to do something where you could sit down and enjoy a long-play experience.”
Car goes on to add that the Kinect was chosen for use in The Journey because you can do things with it that you can’t do with a controller. Expect to hold an enemy in one hand while wielding magic in the other, all from the comfort of your couch.
