A market research survey has revealed that Epic Mickey 2 may be in development.
Don’t you just love a good rumour to spice up a slow Bank Holiday Monday? It’s even better when that rumour actually has a lot of weight behind it and is more than likely true.
According to Destructoid, who got their information from an anonymous reader (the best bits of gossip always come from an anonymous source – it just makes it that much more shady), Disney have been doing market research for the sequel to Epic Mickey.
The survey asked people to choose between names for the game as well as possible box artworks. The titles to choose from included; Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street, and Epic Mickey 2. In my humble opinion, they should definitely just stick with plain, old Epic Mickey 2.
The original launched exclusively on Wii, but according to the Destructoid report the sequel will be releasing on Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. Nothing was noted about the Wii U, meaning I’m going to wildly speculate that Epic Mickey 2 is coming out pretty soon – before the Wii U releases.
Epic Mickey was always a game that showed more potential than substance, so hopefully the sequel can iron out the flaws and see the potential fully realised.
