Early Rock Band 3 Sales Disappoint

Rock Band 3 will debut in the charts in 26th place after first week sales of less than 8,000, according to Eurogamer. The UKIE sales report with these figures in places its biggest rival, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, just one place below it in 27th. Warriors of Rock has been out for over a month, and pulled in over 85,000 sales in its first week.
It’s very early days for a console game that will primarily be given as Christmas presents, and so Harmonix may see sales recover as parents hit the shops closer to December 25th. Many gamers will also be waiting for the 2011 release of the compatible Fender Squier guitar before making a purchase. But whicever way you look at it, these are not great launch figures for a game with such a huge profile.

Hmm… Close to the holidays or not, I was expecting a bit more for it in terms of sales. Guess we’ll see how it goes as the holidays get closer and if that has any impact on sales.
