EA allows banned Origin users to access offline content
Luke Stratford April 16, 2012 - 8:16 pmNews: EA discreetly grants banned Origin users access to single-player content.

EA being nice? Did I miss a memo? Not at all – Electronic Arts are genuinely letting customers who have been banned from Origin‘s online services once more have access to their single-player content. Why? Who knows. All that’s known is that, as of the 8th of April, the terms and conditions of the Origin service have been changed to accommodate users who have breached the multiplayer or forum guildelines.
According to the updated site: ‘If you find yourself with a disabled account. Please note that you can still play EA games in single-player mode. For PC games you will need to enable Origin’s offline mode to play games with a disabled account. Go to the settings tab in Origin (the gear icon) and select Go Offline.’
Essentially, EA has caught up with Steam’s own ‘offline’ mode, which allows players to play games without connecting to the internet. Not to say that many gamers will be ungrateful for EA making a gesture towards giving banned customers a fair shake, but did we really have to wait this long? Anyway – enough ranting. Let’s just bask in the warm glow of EA’s generosity.
