E3: Starcraft II Coming This Year?

According to IGN Blizzard revealed in a conference call that a 2009 date is in the cards for the crazily anticipated Starcraft II. The date is not set in stone but the developer was noted as “committed to trying to make it to market with the highly-anticipated sequel within that window.”

This comes as great news to many, the Koreans especially, as before Blizzard took it’s oft used stance of saying the game will be out “when it’s done.”

The conference call also revealed that Guitar Hero will be hitting PSP with a drum peripheral. The announcement can be seen as a response to Rock Band: Unplugged which was already pegged to hit the handheld.

No information on Diablo III has been reported, but with Starcraft II potentially hitting this year, it may not be too much longer.

I’ve always sucked at RTS games, but maybe by getting in on the ground floor of the next game I can suck less.

Don’t worry, I’m not holding my breath.
