E3: Dante’s Inferno Ignites Church Protest
Danny Moore June 4, 2009 - 12:12 amEA’s upcoming demon brawler Dante’s Inferno has caused a small protest outside E3.
A Ventura county church group has gathered outside the Los Angles Convention Centre to protest the title, with signs that say things like ‘Hell is NOT A game’ and ‘EA = Anti-Christ’. One of the protesters, Matthew Francis, said that the group was particularly upset that the protagonist uses a cross to fight demons.
The cross has been used in such ways in popular fiction for decades, so quite why this is such a big deal now is unknown.

IF YOU DONT LIKE THE CONTENT, DONT PLAY THE DAMN GAME! Im so tired of these chruch people always trying to ruin everything! They take things way to seriously. Its a GAME! Its fiction and so is the bible they focus on so much.
Even that aside, look at the historical point of view. Dante wrote the Inferno in the 1300′s. It was a FICTICIOUS story. He made up the idea of 9 levels of hell. The things portrayed in the book are nowhere to be found in the bible because they are made up! (not that the bible isnt but thats another story)
How can these bible thumpers be offended over something THAT ISNT EVEN IN THEIR BOOK!!! The game is simply based off a ficticious divine comedy. They just wanna find everything they possibly can to fight and make a big deal out of. Ever stop to think that not everyone believes in your fairy tales? Even if they do, its their interpretation. You cant prove theyre wrong or right. Leave these people alone. I wont be brainwashed by such ridiculous people with stupid agendas.
I have to disagree with Ian. I respect ur opinion but please do not offend others with ur commentaries. Bible is not a fiction book. If u believe that it is, fine but do not insult the people who believe in that. And one more thing, I like this game very much and I dont think that using a cross as a weapon against demons is a bad thing coz even the priest use them. Please for the people who disagrees with the catholic ones, try to not insult others beliefs. And again Ian, if u had a bad experience with the catholic people, do not generalize, is the biggest mistake u can make in such cases.
