Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight adds Brazen
James Haresign November 22, 2012 - 9:42 amNews: Brazen, a game inspired by Harryhausen films and Monster Hunter, is added to Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight Humble Bundle.
Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight is a really cool prospect, but do you know what it’s missing? Giant animatronic monsters. Seems Brad Muir, the man behind Iron Brigade, agrees and adds Brazen to the prototype indie bundle. It seems Mr Muir has a serious love for the old Harryhausen movies and feels that modern CGI and videogames don’t do justice to those type of monsters.
Brazen address that by tasking you to go out and kill a bunch of them. Of course these monsters are pretty huge so it’s probably best to bring some mates along for the ride too. While the gameplay does have a lot in common with Monster Hunter, the influence of films like Jason and the Argonauts and Sinbad is even more obvious.
This project was part of a previous Amnesia Fortnight and is currently in production for release, but by paying more than the average punter for the humble bundle you get the original prototype for this too. Which seems like a great deal.
