Evil wizards have escaped a centuries old prison and taken over the Big Apple. That’s where Dave, the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, comes in to use a variety of spells to take back New York. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is an upcoming film from Disney featuring Nicholas Cage. A game version of the title will be releasing exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
In the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, users will enjoy 3D arcade gameplay that will take them beyond the movie. Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing at Disney Interactive Studios explained that concept thusly:
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice video game expands on the film experience by allowing fans to wield magic spells with their own hands. The fast-paced action, magical spells and unique gameplay brings the adventure to life.
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will be coming to theaters this summer, and the DS exclusive title will release on July 13, 2010 for $29.99.
