Dishonored site updated with world detail and enemy profiles
Joannes Truyens June 21, 2012 - 6:03 pmNews: The official Dishonored website has been updated with new information on the world of Dunwall and the people that inhabit it.

I know I already linked to a bunch of Dishonored-related stuff yesterday, but this is just too good to pass up. Arkane Studios have updated the game’s official website to include a detailed breakdown of the world of Dunwall and the various enemies Corvo will be facing off against.
I adore game worlds that are genuinely fleshed out and come with a consistent backstory. Dishonored looks like it won’t disappoint in that regard if this page is anything to go by. Set in the Isles, the neoclassical steampunk world of Dishonored runs on whale oil, a “combustible, yet highly volatile fuel source” that supports the economy but is also extensively weaponised by the government.
Add to that a mysterious plague and a religion “founded upon the principle belief that the universe is unknowably vast and swarming with all manner of dangerous spirits and forces” and you’ve got a recipe for some interesting interactions between the different forces that govern Dunwall. Though if this trailer is indicative, the only interaction Corvo cares about is the one between his blade and people’s necks.
Another page details several enemies you’ll be dealing with, including the Tallboy, the Warfare Overseer (complete with ravenous-looking dog thing), the Courtesan and the presumed archvillain, Lord Regent Hiram Burrows.
It’s an interesting read, so check out the official page for more and keep an eye on BeefJack for our Dishonored coverage!
