DICE are updating the Commo Rose chat system following complaints, optimising it for Battlefield 3.

Having trouble being heard in Battlefield 3? It could be an issue with the ever-buggy Commo Rose system (or it could be because no one ever listens to each other in multiplayer anymore). DICE have heard the complaints and they’re upgrading the system.
In a tweet from Daniel Matros, BF3′s global community manager, has said that “We´re working on an improved version of the commo rose
”. Though they aren’t just fixing the bugs in the system. According to DICE’s VO producer Tomas Danko “It’s not just a small “patch”, it’s shitloads of recordings with lots of actors + new code support.”
The Commo Rose is a method of sending commands in-game for PC players. Pressing ‘Q’ would bring up a short menu of the most used commands, “Medic”, “Need ammo”, etc. It’s very useful for players who don’t have mics as it is significantly faster than typing it out. It was brought over to BF3 but many users have found that the messages aren’t transmitting.
As news develops you’ll be able to read about it here.
