Blizzard has narrowed down the release date of Diablo III to the second quarter of 2012.
During an investor call yesterday evening, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime announced that the developer is hoping to release the oft-delayed Diablo III during Q2 2012 – that’s somewhere between April 1st and June 30th.
“We can also confirm that we are targeting a Q2 launch for Diablo 3,” he said. “We expect to announce more details about the release schedule in the coming weeks.”
We also know that Blizzard are exploring the idea of bringing the clicky, action-RPG dungeon crawler to consoles, although it’s expected they will want to get the PC version out of the door first.
According to Eurogamer, Activision-Blizzard CFO Thomas Tippl mentioned during the call that Blizzard aim to release “at least” two titles this year, so we may also see StarCraft II expansion, Heart of the Swarm, or World of Warcraft‘s fourth expansion, Mists of Pandaria, before 2012 draws to a close.
