Diablo III Collector’s Edition revealed at BlizzCon

Posted October 21, 2011 by Jamie Donnelly in News.

Blizzard revealed details of the Diablo III Collector’s Edition during the opening ceremony at BlizzCon, but there is still no word on a release date.

We may still not know exactly when Diablo III is coming (just a very rough time of “early 2012″ has been given), but we do now know that there will be a Diablo III Collector’s Edition and that it is rammed with goodies.

The Collector’s Edition was revealed at BlizzCon, and will contain a Diablo III Art Book, a special Collector’s Edition soundtrack, a two-disc “Behind the Scenes” DVD/Blu-ray boxset, a Diablo Skull, and a 4GB USB Soulstone – it’ll make your data transferring that much more magical.

The bundle also comes with some in-game items for both Diablo III and World of Warcraft. Diablo players will get “Aesthetic Artifacts”, while World of Warcraft players will be treated to the “Fetish Shaman” pet – I don’t want to know what you do with a fetish pet either. It will also include some Starcraft II Battle.Net portraits – surely the least exciting thing in the bundle, but maybe that’s just because I’m not a Starcraft player.

You’ve now got a tough choice to make if you play World of Warcraft and want to play Diablo III – do you purchase this edition and get all the goodies for both games, or do you miss out on the goodies and simply pick up a free copy of Diablo III with World of Warcraft’s Annual Pass? If you’re planning to get the Annual Pass and the Collector’s Edition, then you should probably go donate to charity or something.

This is already our third bit of BlizzCon news, and it’s only been one evening – make sure you stay with BeefJack for all the latest Diablo III news that comes out of the conference and beyond.

    • I’m basing my decision on when Mists of Pandaria comes out. If it’s within 6 months or so of Diablo III’s release then I think I’ll go for the 12 month WoW sub as I can’t resist them pandas.
