Darkness Exhumed is a new Minecraft-alike

News: A new game called Darkness Exhumed looks a lot like a 2D, top-down version of Minecraft, and dubs itself “a survival sandbox game with zombies”.

Meet Darkness Exhumed, an upcoming survival sandbox game that looks quite a bit like a top-down version of indie hit Minecraft.

It’s a new indie game in which your goal is to build a base then survive in a world populated by zombies. Darkness Exhumed focuses heavily on the mechanics of building – which appears to owe a lot to the blocky nature of Notch and co’s classic – but apparently it’ll be possible to survive without as well.

Like Minecraft, it’ll release via the paid alpha model, probably at a price of around £2.50. By the time the game’s fully finished, it’ll probably cost a fiver, says developer Mali Coxon.

The website – which is currently a little bare, although does feature a video – will be updated as development progresses, he says.
