News: Peter Molyneux has revealed to BeefJack that 22 Cans have decided to delay their announcement about their next project, Cooperation, that was originally due today till “early next week”, due to the “immense success” of Curiosity.

When Peter Molyneux was interviewed by BeefJack’s Lewis Denby earlier this week, he revealed that we could expect an announcement about the next project in their 22 Experiments series of games today, Friday the 9th.

However, Peter has just emailed us to let us know that the team decided to push that announcement back to early next week “due to the immense success of Curiosity”.

“We are learning an incredible amount from our first experiment Curiosity – What’s Inside the Cube,” Peter told us. “Not only in terms of player motivation and behaviour but more importantly the technical side of running something as concurrent as Curiosity.”

“Well over a million people want to explore their curiosity, over half of those have been able to log in to our servers. At its peak there were 27,546 all tapping away simultaneously, more than 6 million firecrackers have been bought and over 190,000,000 cubelets have been destroyed.”

Meanwhile, Peter’s company 22 Cans released a statement shortly after to apologise for the issues some players have been experiencing with Curiosity: “We are extremely disappointed with ourselves that we underestimated the popularity of Curiosity. This is manifesting in a subpar experience for the majority of curious people around the world. We can only offer a heartfelt apology at this stage; our programmers have been awake pretty much since Curiosity came out. We implemented what we thought would be a major fix on our live servers on Thursday but that didn’t give us or you the results we wanted.”

“We believe we now have the solution, and are working as quick as humanly possible to resolve the server connection issues and resulting from that the disappearing coins that so many users have been reporting. We are desperate to get the problems fixed. The programmers are continuing their work throughout the weekend to resolve this. We are not a big company and the amount of people is starting to rack up a massive (for us) server bill. We are doing everything we can with the resources we have.”

They’ve even released a video message to explain the problems, bless ‘em:
