Counter-Strike creator’s Tactical Intervention gets US publisher

Tactical Intervention, the new game from Counter-Strike creator Minh Le, has been picked up in North America and will enter closed beta in March.

OGPlanet will be publishing Tactical Intervention, a free-to-play team shooter by Counter-Strike creator Minh ‘Gooseman’ Le, in the US. Like CS, Tactical Invention is set to be a modern spec ops vs. terrorists affair, albeit free-to-play.

The North American closed beta will begin in March, and you can express your interest in participating on the Tactical Intervention site. Whilst clearly heavily influenced, it doesn’t seem to be a simple clone of Le’s more famous game, judging from the recently released trailer (embedded below) that shows off features like driveable vehicles, cover-taking and rappelling, all set to the music from Epic Meal Time.

FIX Korea will be publishing outside the States, and held the European closed beta last year. Counter-Strike’s fanbase is famously huge and devoted – if even a fraction followed Le to his new game, Tactical Intervention could be quite the success. It’s equally likely, though, it’ll face stiff competition from Valve’s own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. We’ll see, I suppose.
