Chris Taylor believes Wildman Kickstarter might save not only Wildman, but Gas Powered Games itself
Joannes Truyens January 21, 2013 - 10:17 amChris Taylor, whose company Gas Powered Games was recently faced with layoffs, has gotten an overwhelmingly supportive response to his Wildman Kickstarter, to the point that it ”has become about saving a company and the game is a distant second.”

Following the unfortunate layoffs at Gas Powered Games, CEO Chris Taylor addressed the community of his Wildman Kickstarter and asked whether he should continue it. The response has been so overwhelming that it might save the company itself.
“It never occurred to me that the industry would rally like it did, and that people would then invest, not only in Wildman, but in helping me to save GPG and the team,” Taylor tells Polygon. “In fact, it’s probably the other way around, and I think the Kickstarter has become about saving a company and the game is a distant second.”
“I don’t want to make any assumptions at this point, but things look much better, and I think it’s still going to be a long road ahead, but we’re prepared to work very hard to make this happen,” Taylor continues.
He’s already taking phone calls and setting up meetings to bring in those affected by the layoffs. “At least now, everyone has their eyes wide open, no surprises,” he says.
We recently had a talk with Taylor about Wildman when things were still looking up. They’re looking up now as well, but let’s all knock on wood oh crap my desk is plastic.
