Carmine T-Shirt Campaign Raises $150,000 for Charity…But Will he Live?

Posted September 5, 2010 by Jack Fish in Industry News, News.

Epic Game’s T-shirt charity drive has come to an end, with the final votes that will decide a man’s fate now tallied. The campaign allowed players to vote on whether the Carmine to appear in Gears of War 3 will live or die by purchasing shirts reading “Save Carmine” or “Carmine Must Die,” either in the real world or for their Xbox Live avatars.

The Examiner has found a video of Cliff Bleszinski and Rod Fergusson stating that over $150,000 was raised for Child’s Play – the Penny Arcade sponsored charity that donates toys and games to underprivileged children – and issuing a thanks to all who participated.

While Carmine’s fate is sealed, we’ll have to wait to play the game to learn what it is.

  1. That’s very interesting way to go about it.

So we won’t know then until after the game is released?
