News: New images and story details have been leaked about Bungie’s next game, Destiny.

Bungie is not quite ready to talk about its newest project, Destiny. Of course that hasn’t stopped the details from leaking, including a whole lot of story and images for the new game. Bungie has admitted that the information about their upcoming game is real, so feel free to start getting excited about it.

The leaked information was posted in IGN, and confirmed by Bungie to be material compiled by an advertising agency. The document details Destiny’s story:

Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.

The game is meant to be fun for everyone, and reach “your inner seven year old.” It also has the much loftier goal “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.” Destiny will also be heavy on the social elements, though whether this means it will be an MMO is uncertain. We do know that Red Dead Redemption’s Danny Bulla is working on Destiny, and that it will be a sandbox game. As for the rest, we’ll just have to wait until Bungie’s ready to tell us more.

But don’t worry, more information will come soon. “Stick around,” reads the post on Bungie’s site. “We haven’t even started yet.”
