News: Revolution’s Kickstarter to get a fifth Broken Sword up and running has reached its first stretch goal, adding new content and another step closer to Beneath a Steel Sky 2.
Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse has hit its first stretch goal of $500,000 dollars, which means that all the stuff Revolution Software had cut from the game in order to make it for their initial goal is now back in. Mostly this includes side characters and extra puzzles
Nest stop is $650,000. If the Kickstarter hits that the team will add two new locations into the game that were part of the initial pitch, North Africa and Middle East, or as Revolution put it “a whole swathe of adventuring in the exotic cradle of civilisation, exploring lost ruins and uncovering long forgotten secrets.”
Don’t forget if they hit the massive amount of <Dr Evil voice> ONE MILLION DOLLARS </Dr Evil voice> not only do we get Broken Sword 5 fully realised but Charles Cecil will put Beneath a Steel Sky 2 into pre-production. Personally, as much as I want it to happen I think that one might be a bit too much to hope for as it means doubling the current pledge value in just ten days. Still I’ll be happy if it manages the $800,000 for the whole Broken Sword experience.
