News: Brian Fargo’s Wasteland sequel Kickstarter project is right on schedule and will be kicking off this week.
The Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter is ending tomorrow, and having raised $2.8million so far, other developers are eager to follow its success. Hottest on its heels will be Brian Fargo‘s Wasteland sequel, which will be kicking off later this week.
Speaking to RPS, Fargo said: “Yeah, we think we’re still on track to submit today, and there’s an approval process which takes a couple of days. It’s not like I’ve done this before with them right so we need to find out how long that takes. I would say early [this] week; Monday, Tuesday, something like that. It’s imminent, that’s for sure.”
The crowdsourced project was announced last month, and it’s thought it’ll be coming to mobile and PC devices. Wasteland is the spiritual precursor to Fallout, and it’ll really test the Kickstarter funding model – was Tim Schafer‘s success just a fluke, or can it be replicated by another old school cult classic?
