Bored of waiting for Mirror’s Edge 2? Try Purge
Simon Williams November 15, 2012 - 1:44 pmNews: Looking to get your first-person parkour fix but tired of the endless wait for a sequel to Mirror’s Edge that may never come? Fancy mixing in a dash of Borderlands’ art style? There’s a game called Purge on Steam Greenlight that just might scratch that itch for you…

Mirror’s Edge has become something of a cult classic, with barely day going by without someone bending DICE and EA’s ear about when exactly they are going to do a sequel. Personally, I didn’t get on with Mirror’s Edge, due to it giving me motion sickness and making me want to vomit everywhere, but lots of other folks seemed to love it and not chunder at the same time.
So if you really can’t wait for another taste of first-person parkour antics, you might want to take a look at a PC game called Purge, presently submitted on Steam’s Greenlight. There’s wallrunning, pipe climbing and ledge grabbing agogo to be had, but instead of the cold, modernist look of Mirror’s Edge, there’s a scuzzy comic book aesthetic to Purge’s city of Dul’Halasa that owes more than a slight visual debt to Borderlands, as evidenced by the screens and teaser trailer below:

You can find out more about the game, and download a demo, from the official Purge Facebook page or on its Steam Greenlight entry.
