Borderlands 2′s ‘Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt’ DLC officially announced, arriving Jan. 15

I haven’t had the pleasure of playing any of the Borderlands games yet, so I only know Sir Hammerlock as the lovely-sounding chap who introduced us to the wild world of Pandora and its inhabitants in this trailer. I also know that Sir Hammerlock is a hunter (and a gentleman), and come next month, he’ll apparently be the center of Borderlands 2’s officially announced Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC.
The third campaign-based add-on, which was previously leaked like the other Borderlands DLC, will hit the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on Jan. 15. In Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, you’ll go on a hunting expedition with Sir Hammerlock himself as you explore the new Aegrus continent and encounter new creatures. But “what starts off as a relaxing hunting expedition […] soon takes a sinister turn as our Vault Hunters stumble across a new villain intent on restoring the legacy of Handsome Jack,” says 2K Games in a blog post, which reveals that you can expect new loot and quests as well.
Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt will be free for those that bought Borderlands 2’s Season Pass. It will also be available separately for 800 MSP/$10.
