Blizzard originally released an account authenticator in the form of a small device you could purchase online. The authenticator generates a random code that must be inputted at each login. This device was hugely successful and upon release sold out quickly.
World of Warcraft is a prime target for hackers and Blizzard knows this well. Today Blizzard announced the introduction of an iPhone app that will work in the same way as the original. The app can be downloaded for either an iPhone or iPod Touch. Best of all? It’s free.
Once purchased you synch the program with your Battle.net account and the process is then complete and ready for use. If you want peace of mind from hackers then this may be for you. Years of farming and epic loot isn’t something you want to lose to a hacker after all.
